AILEY is seeking a personable and experienced On-Site Seasonal Ticketing Associate to join the Marketing team for the New York City Center season, running from December 3 to January 4.

This is a critical, high-visibility position responsible for assisting with Group Sales and the daily ticketing operations on-site during Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater's busiest season. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at customer service, and maintains a calm, professional demeanor under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an on-site ticketing liaison at New York City Center throughout the season
  • Issue invoices and reminder coordination for Group Sales.
  • Coordinate and manage staff ticketing inventory and needs in close collaboration with the On-Site Ticketing Manager and various internal departments
  • Execute ticket holds and releases by working directly with the Box Office to accurately manage seat locations and inventory
  • Provide on-site support at most performances in the Box Office lobby, proactively resolving any ticketing-related issues or inquiries from patrons, donors, and VIPs
  • Process and track special requests from internal staff and external high-value contacts
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure a smooth and successful season

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proven Experience: 1–3 years of experience working in a box office or other professional ticketing-related position.
  • Ticketing Systems Expertise: Required experience with ticketing databases; Tessitura proficiency is strongly preferred. Preferential consideration given to applicants with Salesforce experience.
  • Exceptional Interpersonal Skills: Highly personable, professional, and adept at interacting with and fulfilling the service requests of donors, VIPs, and high-value patrons.
  • Organizational Excellence: Highly organized, meticulous, detail-oriented, and consistently accurate in all tasks.
  • Communication: Superb written and verbal communication and demonstrated excellence in customer service.
  • Judgment & Adaptability: Excellent judgment and the proven ability to work independently, resolve issues on the spot, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: High comfort level with the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced skills in Excel.
  • Passion for the Arts: Familiarity with the performing arts; a love of dance is a plus.

Term

Seasonal, approximately November 10 through January 4.

Schedule

Must have the availability and willingness to work six days per week, including nights, weekends, and all holidays during the season.

Additional Information: This position is full-time and is based in NYC. This position is on-site and is not eligible for remote work. Hours to be mutually agreed upon.

Compensation

$1,100 per week
