Jamar Roberts’ third season as AILEY’s Resident Choreographer marked a transition as he retired from his onstage dance career to focus full-time on choreography. Roberts danced this solo with live accompaniment by pianist Jason Moran in his one-night-only farewell performance at New York City Center on December 9, 2021, and reprised it for one night the following year at the Adrienne Arsht Center in Miami, FL (his hometown).
