Join five-time Tony Award-nominated director and choreographer, Camille A. Brown, to learn repertory from her work on Broadway, in opera, and with her company, Camille A. Brown & Dancers (which celebrates its 20th anniversary next year).

This workshop will feature live accompaniment. 

Dancers of all levels ages 14+ are welcome to participate in the workshop. Participants are asked to arrive early to warm themselves up prior to class.

About Camille

Camille A. Brown is critically acclaimed, prolific Black choreographer and director whose work taps into both ancestral and contemporary stories to capture a range of deeply personal experiences and cultural narratives of African American identity. Through the medium of dance, she is successfully balancing careers in stage, TV, and film. 

Brown was the first Black woman since Katherine Dunham in 1955 to direct and choreograph a Broadway play for her work on for colored girls who have considered suicide/when the rainbow is enuf, and she was the first Black artist at The Metropolitan Opera to direct a mainstage production, co-directing alongside James Robinson on Terence Blanchard’s Fire Shut Up in My Bones.
